Vintage Pool Tile
At Dunrite Tile and Coping Inc., we have a huge selection of discontinued pool tiles that we have compiled over the last few decades. By having this selection available we are often able to save our customers time and money by preventing the need for a complete re-tile of their pool.
We also make our discontinued tile collection available to other companies and to the public.
What is Mastic?
Mastic is a self-leveling elastomeric sealant that is used to seal the expansion joint between your coping and the concrete.
Due to chemical limitations, mastics tend to begin breaking down over time. It will become hard and brittle and will begin to pull away from the sides of the joint which breaks the watertight seal your pool needs.
Most companies have been using a product called Deck-O-Seal which in our experience bubbles and does not adhere properly. Dunrite Tile and Coping use a product called NovaLink SL pool deck joint sealant which we feel is the best product on the market.
What is rebar?
Rebar is the metal reinforcement rods that pool builders use to reinforce the concrete shell of your pool.
Rebar Stains
Rebar stains can look very different, but they all occur from the rebar rusting inside the shell and making its way out through the plaster. The picture to the right shows a piece of rebar that has been rusted through.
The Repair
The repair entails chipping down to the rusted rebar and cutting out the section of rusted rebar causing the stain. Then the exposed rebar is coated with a rust inhibitor. The cavity is then packed with a high psi non-shrinking concrete and then the area is replastered.
**Because of the aging of your plaster it can be difficult to match the exact color. These patches will be noticeable no matter what you do, but the lighter the plaster the less noticeable.
Epoxy Infection
We perform a process called epoxy infection, in which we pressure inject a structural resin epoxy….through the width and depth. Because of its superior strength, it is mainly used to repair concrete buildings, bridges, overpasses, and parking car garages. At Dunrite Tile and Coping Inc, we use it to restore your pool’s structural integrity.
Most companies today will perform an “epoxy” patch on your cracked pool, this only covers the crack like a band-aid and will not last. At Dunrite Tile and Coping Inc., we actually inject the epoxy using high pressure. This ensures that the crack is repaired through the width and depth of the pool wall restoring it to its original strength.
Re-Tile and Repair
At Dunrite Tile and Coping, our primary focus is re-tiling older pools to make them look new again! Whether your pool needs all new tile for a new look or just needs the tile repaired Dunrite Tile and Coping is for you.
Spa Wall Repair
One of our most common jobs is to repair and retile spa walls. Because the structure of your spa wall stresses over time it tends to cause buckling of the tile which eventually makes the tile pop off.
Vintage Tile
Many older tiles have become discontinued over the years. At Dunrite Tile and Coping, we have a large selection of discontinued tile in stock. We not only use these tiles ourselves but we make them available to the public for purchase.
Coping
We also specialize in re-coping your swimming pool. This allows you to get a whole new look using the latest styles and materials.
